Kutná Hora

Kutná Hora, once a prosperous silver-mining town, is another UNESCO World Heritage Site that showcases the wealth and power of medieval Czechia. The town’s most famous landmark is the stunning Gothic Cathedral of St. Barbara, dedicated to the patron saint of miners. Another highlight is the eerie Sedlec Ossuary, a chapel decorated with the bones of thousands, creating a unique and haunting atmosphere. Kutná Hora’s well-preserved historic center, with its Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings, offers a fascinating insight into the region’s mining heritage and architectural evolution.
